Your Game-Day Guide to Hard Rock Stadium — Space Coast Edition

Everything you need to know before making the trip down to Miami for a home game — parking, pregame, and how to connect with the group.

Hard Rock Stadium sits in Miami Gardens, about 200 miles south of Rockledge — three hours and change depending on traffic, a little longer if you're coming from Titusville or the north end of the county. It's a straight shot down I-95 or the Turnpike. Not a grueling drive by any stretch, but it's worth doing it right, especially if you're going with a group from Space Coast Canes.

For the 2026 season, Space Coast Canes is planning coordinated road trips to select home games, starting with the Florida A&M home opener on Thursday, September 10 (8 PM, ACC Network) and the Florida State rivalry game on October 17. VIP Cane members get first access to the organized trips — carpool coordination, group ticket purchases, and any pregame meetups we set up near the stadium. Hurricane Members and Cane Fans are welcome to join with open spots.

Getting There

Hard Rock Stadium is located at 347 Don Shula Dr, Miami Gardens, FL 33056. Google Maps handles it well — search the stadium name and it'll route you directly. Plan to arrive at least 90 minutes before kickoff. South Florida surface streets near the stadium slow down fast once the lots fill up, and game-day traffic on I-95 near the 199th Street exit can stack for miles before a big game.

For parking, the official stadium lots open 4 hours before kickoff. Lot pricing varies by game — budget $30–$60 for general lots, more for premium. Tailgating is allowed in most lots and it's a big part of the culture, especially in the Orange Lot on the south side of the stadium. If you want to skip the lot entirely, rideshare drop-offs are well-organized in the designated zones on the east side, and it's often easier than parking yourself.

Pregame Options Near the Stadium

The stadium lots are the main pregame scene, but if you'd rather sit down and eat before walking in, there are solid options within a few miles. Flanigan's on NW 167th Street is a local South Florida chain — casual, cheap, and usually packed on game days. For something closer to Coral Gables and more of a UM alumni atmosphere, Titanic Brewing Company near campus draws the older Canes crowd. If you're driving down early and want to eat before hitting the lots, that's a reasonable detour.

When Space Coast Canes organizes a group trip, we'll set a meet-up point — likely one of the official lots or a nearby spot that's easy to find from I-95. Details will go out through the club group chat and the events page well in advance of each trip.

Inside the Stadium

Hard Rock Stadium went through a major renovation and it shows. The shade canopy covers most of the seating, which matters in a South Florida September game — early-season night kickoffs help, but afternoon games in August or September are still hot. Bring water, dress light, and don't skip sunscreen for day games.

Student tickets and general admission lower-bowl tickets sell at different price points. For organized group buys through Space Coast Canes, Hurricane Members get access to group pricing when we block-purchase tickets — typically a better rate than buying individual seats the week of the game. Watch the events page and the club group chat for when ticket windows open for each trip.

The student section is in the south end zone. The Alumni section and most organized fan club seating runs along the lower sidelines. Either side works — the atmosphere inside Hard Rock on a good Canes night is legitimately loud, especially for rivalry games. The Florida State game in October and any ranked-opponent matchup tend to draw big crowds.

How to Join a Trip

All road trip coordination goes through the Space Coast Canes group chat. When you sign up for a membership at any tier, you'll get added to the chat automatically. Trips are announced at least 3 weeks out so members have time to plan time off, arrange rides, and grab tickets before the good seats are gone.

VIP Cane members get first access to coordinated travel — if we're renting a van or chartering a bus for a big game, those spots go to VIPs first. Remaining spots open to Hurricane Members and then Cane Fans. The Florida State game on October 17 is the one most likely to fill up fast, so if you're thinking about any game this season, make that the one.
